I don’t usually post restaurant reviews because it is very very seldom that I can truly truly appreciate a restaurant from food to the ambiance to the smallest details that matters. Kids and restaurant doesn’t goes well all the time. Yeah, I can eat but to truly enjoy what I am eating, that seldom happens. Shinsen Sushi Bar is an exception because this is “OUR” happy place (that’s why Shinsen Sushi Bar Review deserves a page here). OUR meaning me and husband. This is where we usually dine as a couple and not as a mommy and daddy. WOOOOHOOO
Why here? There are so many restaurants in the metro di ba? We love this place because it is a stone’s throw away from were we are. And last order is 9:45, saktong pang late dinner date namin ni Mister.
Shinsen Sushi Bar Review
Shinsen Sushi Bar is located at Hampton Gardens Arcade, along C. Raymundo. While the kids were craving for Brick Burger, the mister was looking for a more adult friendly food. He end up at Shinshen while the kids ate at Brick Burger. His first impression was not OK, but he loved the salmon sashimi.
Our second time was a different story. Because I was there to help him order! And maybe because it was my treat. He ordered 2 servings of salmon sashimi. Hala, ubusan ng budget. The sashimi is quite expensive… but super worth it!
Aside from sashimi, we also ordered Tonkotsu Ramen (P298). We almost always ordered this ramen but I always always forgot to take photo. It’s the only salt based ramen and we both liked it. We enjoyed that meal that we declared the place as our “secret place”.
Shinsen Sushi Bar Review (Food and Price)
Chicken Teriyaki Bento P458. One of Shinsen Sushi Bar best seller. Feeling ko yan because I always order this. I love everything about the bento most specially the caramelized egg plant and the chicken skin. So yeah, it is on the sweet side, that’s why I like it. The Chicken Teriyaki is not sweet though. And this one comes with ice cream. This is a must order.
Ebi Tempura (I can’t remember the price). Nothing special with their ebi tempura except for that extra tempura which my son loves.
Salmon Sashimi is P358 per order and about 6 slices of sashimi. THIS IS A MUST ORDER!! This what Shinsen Sushi Bar is known for. And this is the reason why we kept coming back and back and back at this restaurant. The salmon is fresh and melts in your mouth.
Cheesecake Whole P198. Not quite Teju but texture is light and it’s not too sweet.
My photo is lame, super lame! It did do justice to the food but OMG! This is super good! It’s beef, medium rare and it melts in your mouth. This dish is a little over 700 pesos and it is worth every cents!
Also, this is the dish that made us say goodbye to our secret place. We decided to share the place to our kids!
It’s worth it to be now called, a family affair! Our total bill was 3500+ for the following food items (I can’t find the receipt!):
- 1 order of salmon sashimi
- chicken teriyaki bento
- ebi tempura
- 2 orders of beef
- 4 cups of rice
- 2 orders of vanilla ice cream
It is quite expensive from our usual meal but comparing it to the quality of food we got plus the service, I could say that it is priced just right.
Shinsen Sushi Bar Review (Ambiance and Service)
We love the chill ambiance at the resto and the details inside add to that “Japanese” feel. Of course, number 1 for us is its location. Service is really great and all staff are very courteous and polite. I can’t remember a time that I felt bad about the service and we’ve been here more than 5x already.
And I love that I can order ahead of time through viber. I love how accommodating they are even through viber. They don’t deliver but accepts pick up order. Experienced ordering through viber and my mom picked up the order. Knowing that my mother is a senior, she was well taken care of. Because of that, we love Shinsen Sushi Bar more.
