5 Basic Grocery Shopping Tipid Tips
Tipid Tip #1: MAKE A GROCERY LIST. This is probably one of the most important tipid tip that I will share with you. Making a grocery list limits you from buying what you do not need. It also guides you to not forget the essentials in your house. Make a list and of course bring it when you do your grocery.
I wish there’s a grocery app which lets you make a grocery list, tracks your usage, lets you know when its time to buy and also have a price comparison. Sobrang bongga yan for us home makers no?
Tipid Tip #2: NEVER DO YOUR GROCERY HUNGRY. It’s tempting to just grab your bag, decides on eating at the supermarket and starts shopping. If you can’t eat at home, grab something before you start doing your grocery. There is a tendency to grab almost everything your stomach fancies when you do your grocery in an empty stomach.
That grumbling noise always win. That chips look delish! Oh I am thirsty! I could finish a case of coke! Fruits? Chocolates? I want them all!!!!
kebata bata eh nagpapabili ng Lipton! This is what happens when you bring kids to the grocery.
Tipid Tip #3: DO NOT BRING THE KIDS. It’s very tempting to bring them and see it as treat to them but do not give in to that temptation. It’s very tiring, you’re checking the list, making sure all your needs is in your cart and your trying not to lose your patient because, well, kids!
You can bring them, leave them at the arcade but then that’s another money you need to spend. And kids are always hungry, brining them adds up to your “eating budget”
Also, mga inay, this is our chance to unwind! Sulitin mo na ang bakasyong ito!
Tipid Tip #4: DO NOT GO OVER THE AISLE MORE THAN ONCE. Sabi ko it’s our chance to unwind, sulitin na natin but not to the extent na paikot ikot ka sa buong grocery. More ikot sa asile, more chances of getting what is not on your list. Hinay hinay sa pagtutulak ng cart.
This tip also lets you spend the most minimum time inside the store. Based on study, the more time you spend inside the store, the more chances of winning, este losing on this tipidan game.
Tipid Tip #5: PLAN YOUR GROCERY TRIP. Still on the premise of spending less time inside the store, plan your trip so that you’ll be able to avoid the “rush hour”. More pila, mas maraming pagod, mas maramig gutom. Also, the more time you spend near the cashier, where premium products are placed, the more you are tempted to get at least one or two Cadbury (or Energizer, or that pair of toothbrush).
If you’re doing your grocery every payday, do it early in the morning and never do it on Friday evenings, hunger games ang peg ng mga tao pag weekend payday eh.
Gusto ko sana idagdag sa tip ko ang “look for the grocery with the cheapest SRP” kaso, I have my own favorite grocery stores and I don’t know if they have the cheapest SRP. Gagawin ko yan soon, grocery hopping and price comparing!
