Picking up from my Mommy blogger entrepreneur series, our 4th mom is Chinky Magtibay of LookingAtTheBrightSide.com.
Prior to knowing her.. I have been visiting her blog and every time, her blog makes me feel better, brighter! Her blog’s header is so apt to her blog’s title.. Go check out her blog to see for yourself 🙂

Chinky and her husband started the photo booth business because she loves taking pictures. Chinky shared that even before the start of the digital age in photography, she is already the one who always had a camera in hand. “I am also a fun-loving person who loves to laugh and wants to see people happy and smiling. So having Pixtar Photobooth for parties and special events was the perfect business,” she said about starting a photo booth business.
When I asked Chinky their initial worries, here’s her confession:
At first, my husband & I were worried about being able to balance having our Pixtar Photobooth business, having fulltime day jobs and starting a family. As the months went by, we learned to apply proper time management. We also learned to “hit two birds with one stone,” because most of the time, my husband & I make it a point to be present at the Pixtar Photobooth events. So it also doubles as bonding & date time with each other.
Chinky said they made a good decision to start a business not just because they were able to share joy with their costumer through instant photo souvenirs but also because their being hands on with their business allowed them to grow together, as husband and wife.
Pixar Photobooth was one of the sponsors of Mommy Bloggers Philippines Halloween Party. As you can see, they know their business very well!

When asked to give some inspirational message for start ups, she gave us a handful tips!
1) Follow you heart about what business you want to begin. It must be something interesting for you. It must be something you’re passionate about.
2) Do your research about the business that you’re starting. Equip yourself with the tools, the support and the confidence you will need for your business.
3) Try it out. You will never know if it will not work or not if you don’t give it a shot. If it works, well and good. If not, try again and again.
4) Work on your business like everything depended on you. Pray to God about your business like everything dependent on Him.

December 15, 2014 at 11:49 amI disagree on the 4th tip. One should not work with everything to be dependent on you. This is not management, what if something happens to you? Business then goes kaput. Your business should be good to stand on its own even without you, then you can have it franchised and have the business expand. if everything depends on you, you are not the owner but a slave to your own business

December 29, 2014 at 11:10 pmI think she means work like everyone is dependent on you. You have to strive harder in order to meet the needs of those dependent to you 🙂

December 29, 2014 at 11:30 pmand if something happens to you? what now?
this is an issue raised in our masteral class by our professor that behooves most family corporations. those unable to devolve cease to exist within three generations.
sure you have to work hard, even hard than most. but try to manage that everything would not be dependent on you.

December 16, 2014 at 10:41 amI also have a photobooth business and true enough that every business must be a place not just for profit but for a place to bond and do something that you all love. Research is indeed a good thing to equip yourself with for those times when you need to be prepared to troubleshoot in seconds.

December 19, 2014 at 11:47 pmphotobooth is so popular these days.. the guest will have the chance to enjoy taking pictures at the booth and taking home a personalized souvenir.. this is a great business idea because most people would love to have their picture instead of taking home some figurines.
