Today is my mother’s birthday..and we are the luckiest for having her as our mother, kaya naman kahit nasa Nueva Ecija sya with my sisters, mega handa pa din kame ng aking brotherhood.
And this is our simple handa for our mother’s birthday:
Baked Penne
BBQ favored buffalo wings
Beef Caldereta
and these 3 great tasting dishes is brought to us by Clara Ole products 🙂
A few weeks ago kase, I received this really nice package from Clara Ole (thank you Justine and company!):
I have been using Clara Ole products for so many years now. My favorite is the 3 cheese pasta sauce (I noticed that they changed their packaging..gives the product more personality), Clara Ole cherries and Clara Ole Orange Marmalade (sometimes Clara Ole strawberry jam). I didn’t know that Clara Ole has pancake syrup (syempre tuwang tuwa ang mga bagets at pancake party na naman yan!), dressing and some marinade but what surprised me the most wass the Ora Mix Mo product.. now I am excited to try that one! (malamang pang pasko na yan hehe)
If you want to know more about Clara Olé value offerings and their product range visit Clara Ole website or follow them on Facebook: Clara Ole Facebook Page or connect via Instagram @claraoleph. You can also catch the exciting Clara Olé webisodes called “Pot Sessions: A Cook Without A Book” via the Facebook app:https://www.facebook.com/myclaraole/app_566691690034303.
For my mom’s birthday handa, these are the Clara Ole products I used:
- Clara Ole Three- Cheese Pasta Sauce for baked penne
- Clara Ole Barbeque Marinade (original) for Buffalo wings (BBQ flavored)
- Clara Ole Tomato Sauce for Beef Caldereta
Kain na tayo! (ay ubos na pala haha) sige share ko na lang ang recipe sa napakasarap na mga pagkain na handa namin kanina 🙂
Baked Penne Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 450 grams penne pasta
- 1 kg Clara Ole Three Cheese Pasta Sauce
- 500 grams ground round beef
- 2 medium sized green bell pepper (diced)
- 2 medium sized onion (minced)
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese for toppings (adik lang sa cheese, obvious ba? hahaha)
And this is how Baked Penne ala Pehpot is done:
- Cook the ground beef until brown. Add the onion and bell pepper and cover (low heat) for about 10 minutes.
- Add the Clara Ole Three-Cheese Pasta Sauce, increase heat until boiling then low heat and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Cook your penne according to the packaging.
- In a baking ware, put the pasta, then the sauce, a few mozzarella cheese, pasta again, sauce and cover with more mozzarella cheese.
- Bake it for 8-10 minutes (or until the cheese is almost brown).
- Serve with BBQ flavored Buffalo wings 🙂

BBQ flavored Buffalo Wings Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 1/2 cup (or half the pouch) Clara Ole Barbeque Marinade (original)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/8 butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon pepper
- cooking oil
Prepare the chicken first:
- Separate the chicken wings (meaty part from the bony part)
- Also try to separate the chicken skin a little.
- Season the chicken with 1 teaspoon salt + 1 teaspoon pepper and leave for a while.
For the coating:
- Mix 1`cup flour + 1 teaspoon salt + 1 teaspoon pepper.
- To coat the chicken evenly, use a big plastic ware with lid and put the coating mixture, the chicken (by batch), close and shake.
Coat the chicken and while doing so, make sure that the part where the chicken skin is detached is coated too. Leave it for about 10 minutes, before cooking in a very hot oil.. make sure that it is deep fried.
For the BBQ sauce:
- Mix 1/2 cup Clara Ole Barbeque Marinade (original) with sugar and let it simmer. Add the butter and stir until the butter is melted.
Coat the cooked chicken wings with the sauce and serve with Bluecheese dip (argh I should have tried using the Clara Ole Dips n Dressing Ranch for this.. next time na lang!)
I know you want to ask why caldereta? parang hindi bagay no? actually, that one is for the hubby, hindi mahilig sa pasta un no.. kawawa naman baka magutom (eh malapit na 13th month pay bwahahaha)

waah ang haba.. I will make it quick with the Beef Caldereta Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 500 grams beef cubes
- garlic (minced), oinion (minced) and bell pepper (sliced thinly)
- 2 medium sized potatoes (quartered)
- 1/4 cup frozen green peas
- 2 table spoon liver spread
- 1 pouch Clara Ole Tomato Sauce
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- small piece of star anise and dried laurel leaves
Cook the beef until tender with 1/4 cup vinegar, minced garlic and star anise + laurel leaves. Add water from time to time.
- When the beef is tender, let the mixture cook until it dries up (o sa lutong tagalog eh nagmamantika na)
- Add the onion and bell pepper, tomato sauce and cook for about 5 minutes (adding water to prevent from drying up)
- Add the liver spread and let it stand for a few more minutes before adding the potatoes, add 1/4 cup water, heat in very low then cover.
- After 10 minutes (or until the potato is done), add the green peas and 1/2 cup water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes more.
- Serve with isang kalderong kanin! Enjoy!
