Imagine this, after using the toilet, you unlock the door and steps out, then you hear an alarm.. and the only way to stop it is to dispense a soap and wash your hand. Ang saya no? if only all the rest rooms have this alarm feature… we can stop the spread of germs!
Lucky for Mc Donald’s patrons at SM Marikina, Safeguard launched a Sopa Alarm there as part of the celebration of Global Handwashing Day. The Safeguard Soap Alarm was created to alert people the importance of hand washing after using public toilets.
Forgetting to wash your hands after using a public toilet is indeed very alarming as they contain an estimated 3.2 million germs per square inch. And these germs can cause serious diseases like hepatitis or diarrhea.
- A person enters the toilet, locks the door, and does his business.
- As he unlocks the door to step out, he triggers the Soap Alarm.
- To stop the alarm, he dispenses Safeguard Anti-bacterial Hand Soap onto his hands.
- Above the soap alarm is a warning and hand washing instruction guide that he can follow.
The Soap Alarm caught the attention of moms, dads, kids, students and barkadas – prompting them to wash their hands immediately with Safeguard not only to stop the alarm but, more importantly, to stop the spread of germs.. and for sure those who were alarmed wil continue the habit of washing their hands after using public toilets.
Good job Safeguard and I hope you can put up more Safeguard Soap Alarm dispenser 🙂

November 21, 2012 at 12:18 pmWhoever thought of this must really feel for us moms. I only have one kid but I have to remind him over again to wash his hands after using the toilet. I seriously will consider getting a soap alarm if this becomes available commercially. 🙂
