I have more than one blog and I am asked many times how I maintain more than one blog regularly, where I get all my materials, and where I get my inspiration to write?
To tell you honestly, writing was never my cup of tea. In college, I dreaded writing assignments and in fact had to take a Communication subject more than once. That’s how bad I was in writing. So how did I get into blogging? It was because I want to learn how to write. Applying for an essay writing service position inspired me to learn how to write. Obviously, I wasn’t accepted on the position I was applying for, and so I turned to blogging…and the rest is history.
Where do I get my topics and inspirations? What are the things I blog about?
I always answer: I have kids. Them alone (and their antics) is enough. I have a food blog, which again boils down to me having 4 kids. A family of 6 needs food; and not just food but lots of it. Cooking is already something I do a lot, so thinking of good topics for a food blog comes naturally. I also maintain a tech blog, for the mere reason of documenting my blogging adventure, discovering tips and techniques about blogging and what not.
But I do experiences blogger’s block (a condition similar to writer’s block); there are times that I have nothing to write and can’t even finish a hundred word blog post. And in times like these, I always go back to the reason why I started a blog and the reason why I have come to love this job. Of course, I have a few coping strategies when blogger’s block hit me:
- Take a rest and talk to a human being…not a Facebook friend but a REAL human being. It gives me the stimulation I need without much distraction.
- Essay reading or movie reviews reading. I get ideas from reading and my mind works double when I read. I think and I imagine what I would do differently.
- Sleep is one of my favourite ways of coping. It refreshes my mind and energizes my body.
- Blogger’s Notebook: I always carry a small notebook with me. Wherever I go, I have this notebook and when something interesting pops into my mind, I jot it down and when blogger’s block hits, I consult my notebook.
If you really love and you think that you owe it to your readers to publish a post as frequent as you can, try my strategies to cope with Blogger’s block.
Happy Blogging!
