I have a dream.. a very simple dream…
to plant tomatoes, sigarilyas, okra and eggplant.. a few of my favorite vegetables..and to harvest them in a nice basket and feed my harvest to my kids..
and now my dream is slowly turning into reality!
That’s the seeds that we planted last March 3 (with the help of my kids!).. That’s sigarilyas seedlings. When it started to sprout I was ecstatic! Sigarilyas is my favorite vegetable and to be able to plant one is happiness for me. The other seedlings are tomatoes, eggplant and pepper.
Our Okra seedlings that we planted 2nd week of February.. I can’t wait for the day that my Okra will bear its fruit..
The Chinese Kangkong after more than a month.. My mom said we need to cut some to encourage more growth.. so we did today! and we’re having Kangkong for lunch!
Our very first harvest! (photo of the dish later)
I am so happy that I finally had the courage to do this planting project..that I was able to manage my time more and squeeze this one.. it turns out, it’s not as time consuming as I thought it is..
Next project: Make an alphabet and number poster for Chico and Sati and start teaching them.
EDIT: here’s our Kangkong Dish:

March 24, 2012 at 3:49 pmLooks very organized. The vegetables in my garden are like all over the place. But then, it’s not really me doing the gardening. It’s my hubby and mom. We have tomatoes too. But they are not big and juicy. Quite small actually. We used to plant okra and brinjal, but not any more. You’re doing a good job with your veges.
