There’s Pantene, Safeguard and Olay in the bathroom. There’s Joy on our sink.. there’s Ariel and downy on our laundry area and a Gillette on my husband’s toiletries. Then there’s Vicks on my bedside (there are times that I can’t sleep without Vicks hehe). These are all Procter and Gamble products that we buy very often. And I know most of you are buying P&G products too.. now what if I tell you that you can help give a child a laptop by buying specially marked P&G promo packs available nationwide.
Procter and Gamble, now on its 76th year, started out a program called e.Studyante. A partnership with Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Synergeia Foundation that aims to provide kids from selected schools with an XO Laptop from the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) Association.A laptop that is rugged, low power and specially designed to make learning more engaging and more fun for students.
The goal is simple: Give out 1,000,000 laptops in time for P&G’s 100th year.
And you can help… especially us moms..
We can help P&G’s goal of giving 1,000,000 laptops buy buying the P&G promo packs. Participating brands are Safeguard, Tide, Pampers, Downy, Ariel, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Joy, Rejoice, Whisper, Olay, Gillette, Vicks and Ambi-Pur.
Procter and Gamble e.Studyante program was launched last December 2, 2011 in Tondo, Manila. Together with Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Synergeia Foundation they give out laptops to the students of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School.
Chad Sotelo, P&G Country Manager explains why P&G chose to give laptops to students and how we all can help on this advocacy.
The students of Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School sing and interprets a song. The laptop was given to the students and each one of them received an email from no less than the President of the Philippines himself, President Noynoy Aquino. And while the kids were busy writing their reply to PNoy’s email, we proceeded to another room to have lunch and at the same time, the prescon was held.
After the lunch, we were back with the students as they sent their emails to PNoy. The launching ends with students giving out their thank you speech. And because the Pinay Mommies Community supports the P&G e.Studyante Program, the PMC members present during the event wrote on the wall to pledge our support to this program.

December 19, 2011 at 5:16 pmWorthless effort by P&G. Curse you marketing people. In the end “PROFIT” lang ang hanap nila!

That’s the best way you can do…rather than cursing people who are helping others. Bakit ikaw, ano na ba ang nagawa mo para sa bayan?

February 8, 2012 at 3:02 pmI understand your greed, ‘coz this might a propaganda to generate more profit upon patronizing their products in a form of advertisements. But, that is the real world, we need others as they need us. Let us close our minds of thinking over senseless and selfless act. We all believe, giving an opportunity to other students whom are not capable of buying Laptop even a single one, is a big grace to a less fortunate people who aim big and mobilized themselves in a form of better education with the help of modern technology. It is not really enough that we are just locally trained but globally competitive. What is the use of taking this chance if we hesitate to accept the fact that this will benefit the students. Information technology does requires computer to easy access to compete the big wide world of web so we may adjust and capable of producing people well educated multi-skilled students for the big demand of conceptual age is about to come. Let us not fight and contradict, we humans are capable to think what is right and wrong but still we must hope for the better. A strong country with a strong minds will possibly starts in a right and meaningful education. Let us all help those who are in need especially if we are capable of doing it ‘coz that is a sin. Others who have nothing, still trying to give a small part of them even it is enough but they keep on showing the care and love. A newly established San Isidro high School, Located at San Isidro, Subic, Zambales populated with 450 students, hard started this school year from scratch. We make and carry our self up to the regional competitions from academic and even sports bearing with dancing and theatrical skills, we indeed put the name of our new school into pedestal of fame. As a person really involve in the academe, I do believe our triumphs will continue if our students luckily turned to be a recipient of this laptop computers. Good luck and Godbless to this company and the entire education system.
