Friday again and though another storm is on the way, it won’t stop us Mommies from posting our Mommy Moments entries. Our theme for this week is Precious Gift (any gift from your kids).
I can’t think of any material thing that the kids gave me. They are all to young for that. There were times of course when they would ask their daddy to bought a cake or a dress for me. There were also a time when they “bought” a nice shoes (but can’t find a pic of that shoes).
If I have to talk about other Precious Gifts that I received from the kids, I could go on and on as everyday they seem to make my heart swells with so much gratitude. One of the best thing though is the fact that they always appreciate whatever I do for them. Like when I asked them to pose with their Halloween costume and they willingly did or when Mahat said he had the best birthday party. It was really nice to hear it coming from my kids.
In early years, the kids are more inclined to shower their parents with hand drawn cards. My son was like that too. Almost everyday he would give a card with I love You Mommy on it. It was really important if we parents appreciate this things and praise them for doing a great job. It encourages the kids to be more creative and be more expressive. I also believe than when we show our kids our appreciation to whatever little gifts they prepare for us, it strengthens the love and builds the confidence of the kids.

October 30, 2009 at 6:26 pmTama ka dyan Mommy Pehpot..kelan na nga ang iyong due date? buti nakaka post ka pa, di ka pa ba nag co -contraction?? hehehe. You were right when you said that if we show appreciation to what our kids do, they will be more motivated to do good things. My kids are so showered with love and appreciation, but also showered with fair punishment when they did something unacceptable..
