Just so you know guys, I am delivering Sati by normal childbirth. I talked about EPIDURAL because I am planning to undergo Tubal Ligation. Now a comment from one of my blogging friend (Aria of Aria’z Ink) made me think twice. She mentioned another permanent birth control method and I think I will research more about it and will post about it next week.
Meanwhile I am on looking for fellow Mommies who already had tubal ligation before. how does it feel? I really want to know first hand experiences. If you have an experience with tubal ligation and is not occupied with chores and screaming, please do answer some of inquiries below, you can make a blog post about it (with a link here and I will put it on a list) so we can make a good reference material for Mommies who are considering Tubal Ligation too.
Why did you decide to undergo Tubal Ligation?
What is it that finalized your decision?
How did the operation went? Did you have Tubal Ligation after delivery or you just had it?
How was it after the anesthesia wears down? How about days after?
How was it 6 months after? Did you feel any changes in your body? How about your sexual desire?
How was it years after?
Did you feel any regret after all these years? Do you think it was worth it? If given a chance will you undergo Tubal Ligation Reversal?
Will you recommended it to other Moms? If not do you have any suggestion on birth control?
I hope at lest two or three moms out there would answer my inquiry.. and I hope Aria too 🙂

September 5, 2009 at 2:04 amI'm pregnant with my 4th child and he's due next month, but I hadn't thought about having tubal ligation. Maybe because I'm just scared…

September 5, 2009 at 3:39 amI had a tubal ligation when I was 28 years old. I had one child at the time and I knew without a doubt I was not going to have anymore. It was done in a doctor's office under local anesthesia. At the time all I felt was some cramping and some pressure and later, after the anesthesia wore off, it was like a really bad period. I noticed absolutely no change in anything, body, sex drive, anything and it was freeing to know that I couldn't get pregnant. That was great.

September 5, 2009 at 9:53 amI know a new permanent contraception technolog. It is Essure and you can find details at Essure.com. What I am not sure of is if this is already available in PH. You can also check the site for the pros and cons of different contraception.

September 5, 2009 at 4:36 pmWell, you got my recommendation on the last post, but honestly, only if you're SURE you're finished having kids. Besides, I was already delivering my son by C-section, so I can't give accurate personal aftermath info. However, I had three friends have partial hysterectomies, and they can do them through minor incisions now and they all were up and going in a couple of weeks. I knew I was finished having kids, mine were 8 years apart and I had my boy when I was 36, so there was no question for me. I just wished I'd done more research instead of just accepting the doctor's suggestion. However, if you're healthy and not POSITIVE that you don't want any more kids, then a tubal may be a better fit for you. I just know the complications that I have had. Many women have no problems afterward, but I would also be sure to ask around in your local area. When I was in California, I knew people that had no problems with tubal, now I'm in Texas, seems EVERYONE has had problems with tubal (my tubal was done in Texas) so it may just be that the doctors here in Texas are incompetent in this area. Get feedback from women in your area before committing to one or the other if everything else is equal.

September 9, 2009 at 4:33 pmJust a pahabol. Tubal Ligation is only recommended for women that are not wanting to have anymore kids. Birth control is just so you don't get pregnant soon. These 2 are totally different things and to be thought seriously. Read a lot of articles about the advantage and disadvantage. You cannot just rely on hearsays. Lahat tayo ay iba iba, ang nag work sa akin ay pwedeng di mag work sau. There is really no definite answer that you can get. It would still be your decision. Kung ako sau, si Mister na lang pa Vasectomy moh, hehehe….
