I find it weird that there are blogs who have their comments section moderated and yet, still the word verification is on. It is quite tiring for me.. LOL and I can’t decipher ht logic behind it. Come on, comments are moderated, there is now way that a spam can get through the blog owner eyes.. why oh why?
And so my rants continue until it went straight tot he ear of my dearest..
Good thing I blab about it to him. He answered my inquiries with a logical reason as to why one should still put the word verification on amidst the fact that the comment section is moderated. According to him, it is to prevent auto generated spam from getting in to the comment box. Thew rod verification acts as your protection to this kind of comment. It is like your first line of defense to spammers. Stubbornly I reasoned out, well, comments are moderated, you can just reject it if it is a spam comment. With a raised voice, he said, what if thousands and thousands of spam attacked the comment box? Isn’t that a hassle to reject it all? Ah Good point my dear husband.. and as if there was a time I admitted defeat..
As for my comment section, the reason it was moderated is so I can read each comment and list it on my notebook so I can get back to whoever commented on me, well of course, except for anonymous..
And yes, I have a blog notebook, where I wrote down my topics, post schedules and comments. I list down the commenter and his/her comments, a lot easier to get back at them.
