I am currently listening to the soundtrack of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. My blocmate/sorority sis/spongebob/best friend Mahros introduced me this musical and from then on I was hooked. 10 years after, my kids are also in it. I had the chance to garb a copy of this and let the kids watched it. They do enjoy the sound and the acting and the dance and the.. oh.. they like everything about it. LOL They even re enact some parts. Their favorite part is the flogging part. Just writing about it now makes me smile, remembering how one of them would tear the other’s clothes and start whipping.hehe
As for mommy, I like the part where Mary Magdalene (performed by Yvone Elliman) sings “I don’t know how to love him”. I sing along with Judas on his “Heaven on their minds” hair riisng performance. Tedd Neeley as JCS is nice but Carl Anderson as Judas outperformed him. Judas is a scene stealer. Then there’s Simon “Simon Zealotes” dance number. This one never fails to put our feet into good use. LOL Oh my I almost forget “King Herod Song” gayness spelled all over! Actually I like every single song on that musical.
The songs and performance aside, I am so so in love with their costumes! I wish to wear one of those soon (when my tummy is flat and stretch marks free).
Jesus Christ Superstar is a film adaptation of a rock musical under the same name. The rock opera was of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber creation.
