Libis is one of our favorite place.. Starbucks drive thru, milk tea, our favorite restaurants and not to mention Shopwise…driving along C5, we would always pass by Dampa sa Libis. Having experienced Dampa in Macapagal, we’re kinda curious what Dampa sa Libis has to offer..not that much though because the facade was not very inviting. Finally, after some hesitations, we got to try Dampa sa Libis last weekend.
Dampa sa Libis is a bit different from the Dampa in Macapagal where you choose the restaurant first and you buy fresh ingredients at the wet market. Dampa sa Libis has a centralized payment system. When dining at Dampa Sa Libis, here’s what you need to do:
- Shop for fresh seafood at the back. Fish, shrimp, crabs, you name it and the price are almost the same as it is in Farmer’s
- Shop for marinated meat if you want. There’s a ref for marinated pork and chicken.
- Shop for other ingredients such as vegetables and fruits.
- Line up at the reception for cooking instructions and computation of your seafood, produce and meat. Cooking charge is not included yet
- Pay at the cashier.
- Get a table and wait for your order. And while waiting, order for rice, desserts and drinks.
- Eat, enjoy then pay for your food.
Here are the cooking charge:
Our dining experience was really pleasant. We bought crabs, pusit, tanigue, lapu-lapu and liempo at the wet market. Here’s the wet market:
Our bill for the seafood and pork was 1000+ (not more than 1200) we proceeded to the reception where our cooking preference were noted: Chili crabs, grilled pusit, griled tanigue, sinigang sa miso lapu-lapu and grilled liempo. They say our orders would be ready in 30 minutes. While we were waiting for the food, I got the chance to look around.
There are two dining areas at Dampa sa Libis, one is air conditioned and the other one is not (obviously haha). Aside from the two kitchens that prepares the food, there’s another kitchen that offers short Chinese orders. Also, there’s a small tiangge in the area where you can buy toys and some clothes.
There’s hand washing area, comfort room and an area where you can order for drinks. There’s a two door ref where desserts are displayed:
We got two Blueberry Cream Cheese, 2 Fruit Salad and 2 Mango float. We also ordered 7 rice + 2 coke in can and 4 bottled water.. then the food arrives..
All the food were great.. the pork limepo was grilled just right and the taste was really good, it didn’t disappoint me. The grilled pusit, however, was not to my liking. I like my pusit well done.. but husband said he loved how the pusit was grilled.
The sinigang sa miso was OK too, not too sour but the miso taste was very distinct, never thought that Lapu-lapu can be used for sinigang sa miso. The grilled Tanigue turned out to be better than I expected. But the star of the show is none other than Chili Crabs!
Winner! The kids really really loved the spiciness + sweetness of the sauce.
The desserts we ordered were also good, considering how cheap it was (100+ for Blueberry, 60 for mango float and fruit salad if I am not mistaken).
Our bill was 1200+ which includes the cooking charge, the desserts, rice and drinks. Total bill is 2300+ not bad for a group of 7.. went home with a happy tummy and a lot of leftovers!
Till next time Dampa sa Libis!
and yes, this place is highly recommended by your truly.
