Whenever there is a call for relief operations, I’d go to my closest and see if there is something that I can donate..clothes are the easiest to give (and let’s not discuss why). I read from somewhere that clothes donations are overwhelming and some donations are too bongga to give to calamity victims.. sequined tops? short shorts? gowns? evening gowns? drag queen outfit? come on! Philippines Red Cross, in partnership with Procter & Gamble Philippine, thought of something to make these kind of clothing to use.. and that is through Aid Couture. It is a fund raising event where in the bongga clothes are styled and sold to the public. The clothes were washed and dried before being sold to the public. The proceeds were converted to first aid kids, food supplies, blankets, stretchers, etc for use in times of calamity and natural disasters. The first Aid Couture happened last November and this year, Aid Couture will have its second run this August 2-3 at the Glorietta and Market! Market! Activity Center. What to expect?
- Activity center will be converted into a big selling area
- expect to see clothes from partner celebrities and endorsers
- Clothes will be sold at 100-300 PhP
What can you do to be a part of this worthwhile cause?
- Spread the word about the selling event on August 2-3
- Buy! Buy! Buy! (1 top= 15 hot meals> data from last year’s aid couture)
So? Kitakits on August 2 and 3? Tara!
P.S. there’s a styling event tomorrow for media.. I’ll try to post some of the clothes that will be on sale (lalo na the celebrity clothes)
