Baby Shower Gifts Idea

Baby showers are popular anywhere in the world. The pregnant woman’s sisters, mother or women friends are usually the ones who prepared the baby shower party. Preparing a baby shower should not be stressful, so the pregnant mother’s friends and family members should know how to prepare and what to prepare for the baby shower. The choices vary for party themes, the games, invitations, and even the baby gifts also vary.

Baby shower gifts need not to be expensive. It is a common thought for people who give gifts, that expensive gifts are better than cheap gifts. But the best gift a gift-giver could give is those which are helpful to the baby or to the mother. There are many less expensive gifts for babies that could be given but are needed by the baby such as baby clothes, baby bath products or teething toys.

There are also expensive though practical gifts that can be given to the parents-to-be such as potty chair, high chair, baby crib, breast pump, rocking chair and strollers. Personalized baby gifts are not common gifts but a gift-giver could try out. It is unique, less expensive and the parents-to-be would really appreciate the effort of the gifts.

Weight Gain and Sleep Deprivation: Their Strong Connection

The number of obese children is fast growing and it is quite alarming in some ways. This is because children nowadays spend more time in front of the computer or television and lesser time doing outdoor activities such as playing sports and exercising. Since both parents are working, neither of them have free time to prepare home cooked healthy dishes. Both young and adults are living in fast-paced world, hence the mindset of doing everything quick and easy is the best solution they can think of. But this is just one of the many factors involved in weight gain problems.

Sleep studies have shown that there is a strong connection between becoming overweight. Abnormal sleep patterns resulting to lack of sleep contribute to abnormal weight gain of children aged nine to twelve years old. Lack of sleep may not only result to becoming moody and inactive in school, it can also lead to being overweight. In the research it has been found that children who slept less than nine hours have higher risk of being overweight.

By the time these kids reach the sixth grade they are most likely to be overweight. However there is something positive shown in this studies, when kids reach sixth grade, an extra hour of sleep would mean 20 percent reduction on the risk of being overweight.

It can be because those children who get enough sleep have more energy to consume in doing physical activities rather than those who do not have enough sleep. So instead of playing outside or doing exercise, these children would just lie around. It is important that parents should monitor the sleep patterns of their children to avoid overweight problems in the future. Parents must reinforce proper bedtime schedule based on their kids’ age. It is also a must that children must have a good and healthy sleep.

Mico’s Birthday

March, aside from our wedding anniversary, means Mico’s birthday. As early as February, I already started preparing for his birthday. So even if I am busy reading massage therapy program online, I still took time to plan for his birthday. I told him no more Ben10 or Sponge bob themed party so he settled for Cars instead (his old time favorite movie). My sister who was i Singapore brought a few Cars vehicles so we can use as a topper on his cake.

For the food, we’ll be settling for simple dishes and since we will be spending a little more on his cake, this year we won’t be spending on lootbags.
