I don’t know if it is just me but there is much happiness that I feel whenever I eat with my kids. And now that my kids are older, sometimes it is hard to establish the eating together routine. Buti na lang they are very vocal sa mga pagkain na gusto nila and to ensure that we eat together most of the times, I cook their faves!

Alam naman nating lahat that breakfast is the most important meal. Kumbaga it sets the tone of the day. If you have a really nice breakfast, your day would be nice for sure. Kaya hinahabol ko yan na na sa breakfast dapat sabay sabay kame kumain. And I always cook their favorite meals for breakfast, silog silog!

Ang pinaka paborito nila ay Tapsilog or tapa, sinangag at itlog. But they also hotsilog, and tocilog. At kapag sinisipag ang mommy, kumpleto sila! It really is easy to cook because all these products, beef tapa, tocino, and hotdog are readily available sa Mekeni.

I know some people love macaroni chicken salad, pero ako, I really prefer my macaroni with ham. At ayaw ko ng basta basta ham lang, dapat Christmas Ham. You really have to try it to know the difference. Iba talaga. Level up ang lasa ng macaroni salad mo when you Christmas Ham. For the recipe that I am going to share with you, we are going to use Mekeni All Seasons Premium Ham.

Macaroni Salad with Ham Recipe

Aside from getting a premium ham, the secret to a really tasty macaroni salad is fresh ingredients.

Ingredients:

• 1 pack macaroni salad pasta (around 400 grams)
• Mekeni All Seasons Premium Ham (I used half)
• mayonnaise (1/2 cup to 1 cup)
• 2 tables spoon condensed milk
• 1/2 cup carrots diced (small)
• 1/4 cup celery stalks (diced)
• 1 cup pineapple chunks (drained)
• 1/2 cup cheese diced
• 1/4 cup pasas (optional)

What did with Mekeni All Seasons Premium Ham is sliced it into 1/4 inch thick and then reheat it in the oven, you can also fry it but make sure to wipe the excess oil with kitchen towel.

Cook the macaroni pasta according to the packaging. When cooked, give the pasta a cold to stop it from cooking and also to cool it down faster.

When macaroni pasta is cooked, toss in all ingredients and mix well. Refrigerate and enjoy! We sometimes add apples before serving or romaine lettuce on the side.

The amount of hotdog you need is based on your family’s hotdog capacity. Rule of thumb, 1 medium sized onion is good for 3 pcs hotdog 🙂

Mekeni Picnic Hotdog “Bistek” Ingredients: 

• 6 pcs Mekeni Picnic Hotdog Jumbo
• 2 pcs medium sized onion, sliced as rings
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• kaunting paminta (isang kurot lang)
• spring onions for garnishing

Sa totoo lang, sobrang dali nito i prepare. What we like about this this recipe is giving our favorite hotdog some tasty sauce. Minsan kase di ba, masarap kung may kaunting sauce or sabaw ang ulam.

Sa sobrang dali, I think even your kids can do this with supervision sa paghihiwa:

• Slice the hotdog and cook it for 3-5 minutes.
• Add onions and soy sauce. Stirring from time to time.

• Turn off heat when onion is cooked (around 5 minutes).
• Serve with spring onions on top and rice of course

We also tried with fried rice and we like it better with it.

Kusina tip: Kung saan ka nagluto ng Mekeni Picnic Hotdog “Bistek” pwede ka din doon mag luto ng fried rice.
