Maria tagged me with this one. To tell you the truth guys, I have no romantic proposal story to share. I don’t even own an engagement ring. My hubby is not a romantic type, and I never complain. In fact I cannot think of him as a romantic lover. If in any case he suddenly becomes one, I am pretty sure I will loose interest on him. Our love story began late 1999, it has begun for me but not for him. I was already so so so into him then and he is so not seeing me. It hurts a lot back then LOL. Then after some months a romance had blossomed between us(or I just assumed). Then it was gone. Would you believe he even told me to move on.. yeah I cried a river then. Fortunately some things happened that led him straight to my arms.. All in all, I wooed him for 7 months.. We were living together then, even though we were not an item yet. In case you might find it wierd, communal living is perfectly normal in UPLB. I even experienced living with 4 or 5 fraternity brothers. We were sleeping side to side with no malice (on cata’s part only LOL). It is just natural (for us) that we live together after formalizing our relationship. Then he left the campus and just months of living away from him, I give up. I go with him in Valenzuela (2001). Marriage and proposal is out of the question. We just knew we are goin to marry, just waiting for the rigth time. We are so assured of ourselves and our relationship. 2002, something happened that made us to decide to marry the next year. February 2003, it was set that our wedding will be on March. I know for some, proposal and wedding is a big big day. It is just not to me. I treasure our wedding day, simply because it is the day that our bond was legalized.. but I have no romantic sentiments for that day. Maybe it is not only my hubby who is not romantic.. maybe it is also me.. LOL.. I don’t even care that we did not spend a sweet and romantic Valentines.. I admit at firts I ask him for things like that but now that we are older together, I just learn to accept that our relationship is more than sweetness. I know we both agree that what we have is a commitment not only base on feelings, but also based on responsibilty.. But if you still insist on how he asked me to marry him or me asked him to marry me.. well here’s what happened: The night of February 1, 2003 (my 21st birthday), he thinks that this is a legal age for girsl to marry. He just told me that I call my mother and tell her to file fro our marriage papers. o ano, kinilig ka ba? LOL
Teasers On Awards And Tags
Since my gown and heels are still on the runway and the red carpet is still on Middle East, let me just give you what you might expect on the next awarding nights.. LOL Passionate Blogger Tag Award from Ate Jane and Ghie Triple Awards from Twinkie A bag tag from The Retirement Chronicles Chris of The Mommy Journey has been showering me with awards and tags. First she tagged me with the Top 3 Meme. The most flattering award she gave me was this:
Thanks so much Mommy Chris! And she touches my heart with the Love Ya Award Mommy Enchie, Mommy Niko and Mommy Chris (again) all believed in me.. I am so flattered with this! As my header says, I am part time worrier, awards like this makes me think twice.. Guys you just don’t know how much it means to me.. Thanks! If you have been following my blog, you will notice that I love making my bloglife a little more stressful. Once I recieved an award, I usually pass it on to new found bloggers. I know that it is rather crazy and of course there is no assurance that the new found will play along. Well, for me, a tag or award is just the same as Hi or Hello in real life.. like a converstaion starter.. and so to blogger friends who are so nice to give the awards (and tags) mentioned above.. just give me some more time.. I will still need to find new victims LOL If you think I missed on your award or tag, please say so… and leave a comment.. I appreciate reminders LOL
Toy Hunt (Toys with numbers)
This week’s toy hunt theme is toys with numbers. Joy said it’s a special day today, it’s her Bianca’s birthday! Happy birthday to your daughter Joy. If you love toys as much as we do, come join us here.
This is a toy that my sister gave to Kayil. She bought it in Divisoria, for 35 PhP. This is one of the cheapest toy in his collections. Cheapest not because it was less than a dollar, it was cheap because at that value my son can learn a lot from that toy. He can do addition and subtraction using this.
It has 13 columns with two beads on top representing heaven(upper deck) and 5 beads down representing Earth (lower deck). The decks are separated by a horizontal beam. The use of abacus is rather complicated to my simple neurons, I have to dig and dig and read more in order to learn how to use it. Here is a site that best describe how it is used, go on and play with it, it’s fun. Well it seems that it was not really that hard. From what I remember, using it is as easy as dumplings (yum!eating dumplings,, shrimp preferably). Each upper deck beads are valued as 5, and the lower decks are valued as 1. If you are to count 6, all you need is to move the beads towards the beam, 1 from the upper deck, then 1 from the lower deck. Each column is valued as tens, hundreds, thousands and so on (starting from right). If you need to count 105, the placement of beads are as followed: 1st column: 1 bead from the upper deck 2nd column: no beads (since there is no tens value) 3rd column: 1 bead from the lower deck A 6789 value is represented as: 1st column: 1 bead from the upper deck, 4 beads from the lower deck 2nd column: 1 bead from the upper deck, 3 beads from the lower deck 3rd column: 1 bead from the upper deck, 2 beads from the lower deck 4th column: 1 bead from the upper deck, 1 beads from the lower deck I never experienced using an abacus so forgive me for my elaborate entry.. Have you tried adding or subtracting using an abacus?
